How can i break up with him without hurting myself?

You truly don't do much in the way of doing things together or any regular basis to begin with. Also not being able to pay his bills isn't the best sign in the world of someone who's dependable or stable for a long term relationship. I KNOW we all go thru hard times, oh how I know! But I feel if you let time lapse see if he attempts to contact you in any other ways. There ARE still pay phones! He could call you IF he honestly wanted to that badly! I wouldn't call it "dumping" him, I would simply put space between the two of you & see what happens on his end. IF he drifts away in the sunset so to say, then I'd figure he just wasn't the rite person for you. I'm sure you can start a whole new beginning with someone completely new in time. There IS a special someone you will meet at just the rite time. So don't give up for heaven's sake as there will be a someone you've just yet to meet. Give this one space & time tho & see what the outcome is & you'll know just how badly he did want to contact you. The truth does come out in the end...best to you...:)
