Why isn’t it a sin for Christian churches to build up wealth and ets, ignoring the suffering and needy?

See if I was going to write a book and call it an absolute moral code, this would be one of the big no-noes that I would make sure people never did, but then my moral code would be based on logic, reason and my innate sense of fairness instead of primitive superstition and Bronze Age myths. What are the chances of my moral code being as popular as the Christian moral code even if mine is infinitely better?
