Would I be considered Jewish?

When I was talking to my mother, she had said that her mother had some Jewish ancestors, however, I don't know if it was on her father or mother's side, but I know that it was a little distant, but not too far back. Anyway I just wanted to know since my mother said her mother has Jewish ancestors. Please no rude comments. Thank You. Also do not take my question the wrong way, it is only curiousity.
